Katie Basile is a photojournalist, documentary storyteller and educator based in Bethel, Alaska. Her work focuses on the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta region of Alaska and explores adaptation and resilience in a changing world. Along with editorial work Katie frequently collaborates on community engagement projects with organizations and communities including the Portland Art Museum, South Sudan Medical Relief, and the Newtok Village Council. Katie began her career as a teaching artist and has more than a decade of experience collaborating on multimedia stories with rural Alaskan youth.
Katie is a 2019 Rasmuson Foundation Individual Artist Awardee and a We, Women Grantee. She is the Multimedia Director for KYUK, Public Media for Alaska's Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta.
